Our history is long and eventful.

THE MOST IMPORTANT MILESTONES

2025

The company site is being expanded with the construction of another warehouse. Completion is planned for 2026. We are thus continuing our course of strengthening the site in the long term and aligning it to growing requirements.

2023

2022

We open our newly built show bakery with a seminar room and capacity for 60 people. We also push ahead with our internationalisation and expand our webshop to include individualised platforms for European retailers.

2021

We launch our online shop in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. We expand our production, build a new warehouse and expand research/development and quality assurance.

2020

The new company site on the Reißiger Gewerbering in Plauen is further expanded with new capacities. We receive IFS Food certification.

2016

We move into our new building in the Reißig industrial estate in Plauen. Modern production and working conditions and contemporary storage and logistics facilities form the basis for our future development.

2012

We are a practice partner of the BA Plauen in the Food Safety degree programme. In this way, we are committed to training skilled workers in the region.

Since 2010

We are continuously expanding our product range in response to changes in the market. This also includes increased participation in trade fairs, including international trade fairs to expand our export business.

2009

In October, we provide proof that the requirements for DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 certification have been met.

2008

To mark the company's 60th anniversary, we look back with pride at a big celebration - and forward with a zest for action. With Marlene Bäume and Björn Kaiser , the next generation joins the company.

2007

We receive certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 and the IFS Checklist Version 4 in May 2007.

2005

With our newly developed, freshly certified organic orange peel paste, we are represented for the first time at the world's largest organic trade fair, BIOFACH in Nuremberg.

2002

The demand for organic products is constantly increasing. Our organic lemon paste has been awarded the BIO certificate.

1997

Thea Schulke retires from the company at the age of 61. Her daughters Steffi Bäume and Annette Hiller take over the business.

ab 1993

The old production and storage facilities of Heinrich Karow Nachf. KG are gradually being demolished, rebuilt or modernised.

1990 - 1991

Operations come to an almost complete standstill. Managing Director Thea Schulke successfully fights to keep the company going. Slowly but steadily, sales and demand start to grow again.

1971

Company founder Willy Bäume passes away. His wife Thea continues to run the business.

1950 - 1959

The orange and lemon peel pastes known to this day are developed in Plauen and sold throughout the GDR.

1948

The production of flavours, pastes and food colours begins with the purchase of the flavouring factory, recipes and equipment from Hamburg businessman Heinrich Karow.

1945

After the end of the Second World War, Willy Bäume founds a wholesale business for bakeries and grocery shops in Vogtland.
