Safflower powder

A food colouring as an alternative for clear jelly, ice cream, cream, mousses, fruit fillings and many other bakery and confectionery products - which does not need to be declared. Safflower powder is extracted from the petals of safflowers (Carthamus tinctorius L.) and applied to maltodextrin as the carrier material using spray drying. Very little needs to be used, it has a high level of colour brilliance and is light-stable.

  • Highly concentrated, therefore use very sparingly
  • A natural extract from petals of safflowers, therefore suitable for clean label products
  • Remains stable when baked or frozen
  • Light-stable, therefore recommended for decorations (e.g. egg white royal icing)
  • Very suitable for clear drinks and jellies
